30-Day Song Challenge: Day 1

(I am simultaneously posting about Elle’s vacation & this 30-Day Song Challenge.  I’ll try to keep myself in order here even though there will be quite a few Day 1s and Day 7s and I’m not good with numbers.  Moving forward…)

A few friends suggested I try the 30-Day Song Challenge.  And because I often have a difficult time coming up with decent stuff to write about…

Day 1 – Your Favorite Song: For today, the answer is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Heads Will Roll.

Tomorrow it will be something else.  In fact, I considered Boston’s Foreplay because you can’t help but want to clap your hands and drink a beer with your dad when that song comes on.

But back to Heads Will Roll, I really just heard it on the radio and I have too many songs I claim to be my favorite.  My short-term memory is hazy at best, so I’m sticking with this.  It’s a badass song and the video is even badass-er.  Wouldn’t this have been awesome to see live…like, unexpectedly?  I would have called the cops, though.  Just ’cause I’m a wuss.

Karen O is so cute.

About Dena

I'm a sNew Hampshirite by way of suburban Cleveland, by way of Oklahoma City, by way of North Florida, by way of Southern Maryland, by way of Upper Michigan, by way of Northern Italy, by way of Lower Michigan, by way of Texas. Because of living in so many places, I have something in common with almost everyone I meet. I love reading, writing, and American history (especially reading or writing about American history). I'm interested in culture of home and place, historical trauma, and writing about the kinds of histories most people don't know about.
