I’ve been busy stalking squirrels

Elle and I rode our bikes out to the neighborhood park today.  The plan was to play, since that’s what most kids do at the park. Sadly, I am not a kid and this was never more evident than this afternoon.  Not only were my legs on fire from pedaling a bike for 1/2 mile but I got queasy after two turns on the swing.

I guess that means I’m completely out of shape as well.

Lucky for me, I had my camera.  While Elle swung around on the bars and jumped off the swings and ran all over the place (I’m pretty sure she has the same amount of energy as 47 atomic bombs), I came across a very plucky squirrel.  Yes, plucky.

This squirrel hung around for a good 10 minutes.  He’s such a ham.

About Dena

I'm a suburban Clevelander by way of Oklahoma City, by way of North Florida, by way of Southern Maryland, by way of Upper Michigan, by way of Northern Italy, by way of Lower Michigan, by way of Texas. Because of living in so many places, I have something in common with almost everyone I meet. I love reading, writing, and American history (especially reading or writing about American history). I'm interested in culture of place, historical trauma, and writing about the kinds of histories most people don't know about.

You are posting squirrels? Are you nuts?

Okay, that wasn’t even punny, I’m sorry.

I love puns! Thanks for the laugh, Chris!
